38 Weeks!

I had my 38 week appointment on Wednesday.  I am 0 % effaced and not dilated one bit.  Haha, I guess I won't be having the little one before I got back to work tonight.  I am measuring right on (38cm) even though no one believes me.  I swear its just because I'm tall...he has more room to grown, instead of  just going straight out.  I am having some Braxton Hicks contractions (false labor) every once in a while.  Only if I am up on my feet for long periods of time etc.  I feel good, a little bit more tired this week, but otherwise pretty good for being 38 weeks pregnant.  I also had my baby bump photographed this past Sunday with a friend from Faribault.  I will of course post some pics once she sends me the cd.

I also wanted to post a picture of our little boys closet....are you kidding me....and yes I had to label each section so I could keep everything organized.  And keep in mind everything 12 months and above is in storage bins, until I can find more room in the closet.

Spa Day

Well at least for the Lily dog....
I thought I would dedicate a post to our little Lily, since
baby is coming, she will soon have to share our attention with a little one.  Lily got her hair done today and she looks fabulous :)  She loves getting in the car and going to 'Bark Avenue' (her hair salon).  The lady there even calls her princess (she seems to get that title wherever she is)  The owner has 5 dogs that are all roaming around, but when I arrive it seems like Lily rules the joint.  Most dogs when they are done with their haircuts go in the kennels and wait for their owners...oh not Lily...she gets to stay up front with Amanda while prancing around like a little princess.  Gotta love our little lily doggy.

We surprised Daddy with her haircut...he thought she looked very pretty :)

She so nicely holds her leg up so you can scratch her belly....she is one spoiled girl.

These are a few of my favorite things....

(At least during pregnancy.........)

mmmm what would I have done for
16 weeks without saltines

Since finding out I was pregnant I promised myself a pedicure every 2-3 weeks, so fabulous and so relaxing!

Craved potato salad earlier on in pregnancy....I ate it by the gallon...I swear

peanut butter and jelly toast (oh and the fact that Josh had to specially go out and buy me some grape jelly for my late night craving :)

Love love love orange pop...no idea why...but its my new favorite beverage :)

Caribou Coffee's Carmel High Rise Cooler (my guilty pleasure during pregnancy, love the fact that they can do 1/2 caff) mmm yummy (this is what gets me through my 12 hr night shifts)

Whoever invented these were pretty darn smart! Bella Bands! Those of you who don't know, they are pretty much like stretchy tube tops that you can put over unbuttoned and unzipped pants that will hold them up for you! I only had to buy one pair of overly expensive maternity pants.

I have a much greater appreciation for people with heartburn...it sucks...these babies don't leave my side (on my nightstand, in my purse, work bag etc)

I thought this would be a fun post to look back at...for 9 months these have been my favorite things :)

Lake-side with the girls!

Last weekend was girls weekend down at my girlfriend Chanell's cabin in Waterville.  I went down on Saturday to spend the day with them.  We had a blast cruisin on the pontoon, playing bags and grillin out.  I love those girls, and we just can't believe that some of us have been friends for so long (the 4th grade).  It was such a fun day (except I can't wait until I can partake in more of the festivities :)  hehe only kidding...well sort of :)  Oh and thanks to baby Carter...I was the only one that didn't get pushed into the cold lake!  Here are some pics of me and the girlies....

Time Flies When You are Having FUN!

Last Tuesday (August 11th) was our 2nd anniversary!  I can't even believe it has already been 2 years!  I guess time flies when you are having fun :)  Josh jokingly (hopefully) said that it feels more like 8...oh how romantic.  He surprised me with beautiful gerber daisies.  They are just so bright and colorful...he did a fabulous job picking them out.  We celebrated with a yummy dinner at The Melting Pot downtown on Friday night.  And for those of you who haven't been there...you are definitely missing out....It was soooo yummy!  The dessert was our favorite part.  I am very excited to spend many more anniversaries with my wonderful hubby!

37 weeks!!!

Holy cow....I am already 37 weeks!  I can't even believe it!!  I feel really good, other than the lovely heartburn, but otherwise really really good!  I had my 37 week appointment on Tuesday, everything went well, I am measuring at 35 cm (which she thinks he has dropped so that is a-ok)  I had her guess how big he was....which is really hard to do unless they are really small or really big...but she said around the 6 lb range.  Baby Remme needs to stay in there for 1 week longer and then he can make his appearance at anytime.  Technically he is full term, but the 37 weekers that I take care of just aren't quite ready to be out yet (difficulty feeding, jaundice etc)  However with the way his momma can eat, I'm sure he won't have an issue :)
I have a lovely stretch off now (Wed - next Fri), so if he decides to make an appearance before I go back to work that would be fabulous :)  However, I already now what's going to happen...I am going to go back next Friday work 3- 12 hr night shifts, have 1 day off, and then work 2 more... aaaaand then go into labor....haha.  The nursery is ready, bags are packed, carseat is installed, so we are good to go!

"I'm not fat I'm just knocked up"  hahaha

I thought I would post this pic....I was putting together the amazing swing Carissa and Eric got us and miss Lily came trotting along and made herself quite comfortable.  Ugh...this is going to be fun getting her used to having a baby around...we may have one JEALOUS puppy on our hands.

A weekend of Baby Showers!

Like I said in the previous post, we had a shower this past Saturday...and on Sunday we had another one!  Jackie's side of the family came up to Albertville on Sunday for yet another baby shower for our little guy.  (Let me just tell you we are soooo grateful for all of our friends and family....our little Carter is quite spoiled...and he hasn't even arrived yet!)  They all took me out to eat and then we came back to our house to open presents and eat some yummy cake!

Carissa surprised me with a FABULOUS banner and door sign made by one of her friends.  I always visit her website and just oooo and aaaaah over how creative she is...and now our little one has one of her creative masterpieces for himself!  It looks soo incredibly cute in the nursery.  (She has a blog called Polka dots and pirates if you are interested)

My mom also brought over 2...yes 2... cub food boxes full of little boy clothes from a coworker of hers that just had a baby.  She didn't want anything for it and just said to pick what I wanted and then do whatever with what was left.  Let me tell you....these clothes were super cute!  I could not believe how many of the outfits were barely worn.  So this week I spent a while organizing this little one's closet to accommodate alllll of his clothes!

These are the clothes JUST from this weekend!  Are you kidding me??!!  Piles and piles!

Lily loved all of the clothes too! (she's such a little princess)

After the baby shower our neighbor asked us what we still needed for big items.  They already gave us their barely used bassinet to use...and then proceeded to tell us they have 2 excersaucers, a pack and play and a walker that we can use.  (are  you kidding me??!!)  I just cannot believe how incredibly generous everyone has been.  First off we are so excited to have this little boy...and then to have absolutely everything for when he arrives...given to us by friends and family....thats just unbelievable!  Josh and I were talking, and we are just so incredibly grateful for everything.

Baby Shower with the Remmes!

The proud daddy to be !

Josh's mom Jackie made us this cuuute blanket!

Josh's aunts threw us a baby shower in Elysian on Saturday.  Everyone had a fabulous day enjoying the hot hot weather lake-side.  It felt like a sauna when you stepped outside, I myself enjoyed the nice cold air-conditioning inside :)  Kristy had the cutest decorations and Josh's aunt Tammy made the two of us pins to wear...I am going to make Josh wear his at the hospital :)  Other than locking my keys in my car and losing my credit card, it was an amazing day!  (I swear I have lost half my brain cells being pregnant, and I heard you don't ever get them back!)

Updated Bump Pic :)

I thought I should probably update my bump pic...since its almost been a month since the last one.  I am 36 weeks today!  Once again, I can't even believe this baby boy of ours will be soon be here.  The crazy thing that I keep thinking is... I take care of some 36 weekers in our newborn nursery...that just blows my mind that baby Remme is that close to making his appearance :)

I had my 36 week appointment on Monday and will be going in weekly from here on out.  Everything went well, he is a happy camper with his heart rate in the 130-140s.  She asked me if I have noticed him dropping, because I am measuring the same as what I was at my 34 week appointment.  I didn't really notice, but my coworkers actually did.  He isn't pushing up into my ribcage as much, so I guess there have been a couple subtle changes that I have noticed.  He is currently head down as well (yay!).  Well more pics to come from this upcoming weekend.  I have 2 baby showers with Josh's family!  Hopefully it doesn't get too hot...I have been so lucky this whole summer!

Marky

So, I guess my little cousin Mark was disappointed that I didn't post the pictures I took with him from this past weekend...but what he didn't know, is that I was planning on saving a blog just for him :)  Isn't he a cutie!  I bet he has like 4 girlfriends, because he is that cute, except he won't admit it to us :)

35 weeks! Getting closer :)

Yay for being 35 weeks! Not too much to report other than I feel good, and I am even writing this at 5AM after working a night shift...not too shabby. I do need to watch myself though, I was once again doing lots of organizing etc in our storage room, and I may have lifted one too many storage bins. My back was killing me, its just when I get an urge to organize and clean I have to do it at that very moment.

Our little one is over 18 in long and around 5 1/4 lbs (keep in mind these are just estimates from the wonderful 'what to expect when you are expecting' book) and the fruit this week......drumroll....Honeydew!! Perfect for summer time :) I have my 36 week appointment on Monday and then I will be going in weekly...I can't believe we are already to this point! Kind of scary...kind of exciting...lots and lots of mixed emotions. But I am sure once I am holding him in my arms, I will be more than excited to begin our new journey as a family.

Josh has been super busy with his business, which is amazing, but he has been putting in some long days. We are hoping I deliver on a Friday, so he doesn't have to close down....haha....we'll see how that works out :)

We went out to the Olive Garden for Jackie's birthday on Wednesday, and celebrated with Josh's sister and her husband. And then mi madre's birthday is today! I work all weekend, so we will be celebrating with her next weekend.

And one little addition...My Grandpa Thompson had surgery yesterday for a resection of his colon for an infected appendix and diverticulitis. Everything went very well, from the reports, and all we ask for is lots of prayers to be sent his way so he has a speedy recovery!

Well...I am in the nursery...and the babies are calling :) Off to change about 6 diapers and bottle some hungry babes. Hmmm at least its great practice!
