Mr. and Mrs. Holman!

Our very good friends Joe and Kara got married this past weekend.  The wedding was absolutely gorgeous (Kara has such cute taste).  It was outside...a little chilly....but so pretty!  Carissa and Eric drove us to the wedding, watched the little man and then came to pick us up after the reception.  We were so thankful that the two of them offered to do that.  Josh and I had a fabulous date night, and I had no worries since I knew Carissa and Eric were just loving our little guy up!  Our fall is full of all these love birds getting married!  Also, on Saturday the Zwebers came over to meet Mr. Carter.  Sam just turned 1, and he is just the cutest!

Sooooo after talking about how much I wanted a Nikon....my wonderful hubby surprised me with one!!  He put it in a baby gift bag and when I was going through gifts from the baby shower I opened up the bag and was very confused.  I love love love it!  The pictures are amazing and I love how fast it is.  Mr Joshua also made me a card....yes made me a card.  He used some of my scrapbooking supplies.  (That will be the last time however, since he left 2 pens without caps on and dried out another adhesive device)  He told me how amazing I was for giving birth to our big boy and at the bottom of the card he wrote:  "Oh and by the way this is your Birthday and Christmas gift so don't ask for anything else."  He knows me too well :)  Here are some pics...obviously the blog uploading doesn't do it justice, but you get the point.  

We caught him smiling!

Our baby boy started smiling last week!  (1 month old)  We finally caught him on camera.  And these are real smiles...not just gas ones :)  He looks soooo cute when he does it.  Its so much fun to see him react to our faces and sounds.

Todd and Courtney got hitched!

We have had such a fun time meeting all of Eric and Carissa's friends and family from Cokato, and had a great opportunity to celebrate with all of them this weekend at Todd and Courtney's wedding.  We had so much fun, and auntie Carissa had a good time showing the little Carter man off :)  No one believed he was only a month old.  There was a 5 month old baby that was only a little bigger than our 'little' boy!  Congrats again to Todd and Courtney, the wedding was beautiful!!

Grandma Alfaro Comes to Visit!

My Grandma Alfaro...now Great Grandma from Boston was able to make it out to see Baby Carter a week after he was born.  I brought him to my aunt and uncle's  house so they could meet him too.  Remya (my little cousin) was very excited to meet him.

We also had my Grandma over for dinner, along with my Grandma and Grandpa Thompson, my brother Brandon, and my mom and stepdad.  

Carter's First Dr Apt

Yes...I know...this was 3 weeks ago, but I am going to attempt to update our blog with what has been happening since our baby boy arrived.

Carter, Mommy and Nana Lynn made a trip to Rogers for his 1st checkup at 1 week.  The nurse put him on the scale and it read 7lb 13oz, both my mom and I looked at each other and then both agreed that was not correct.  The nurse looked at us like we were crazy, but she went to get another scale.  Before that Carter peed all over her.  So while we were waiting for the scale, I was holding the little man, and all of a sudden we heard a very loud toot, and yes my naked boy pooped all over his blanket and his mommy.  So we finally got a correct weight.  9lb 10 oz!!!  Not only did he gain his birth weight back, but our little piglet gained another 7 oz.  He is in the 90th percentile for weight and 97th for length.  Before leaving Carter decided to pee once again all over the Nurse Practitioner.  2 pees and 1 poop within 10 minutes....hmmm sounds normal for Mr Carter.

We then took a trip to Target...and mommy and nana were able to shop for about 15 minutes before Carter woke up and had only one thing on his mind....food.  It was a great day and we are very thankful to have such a healthy baby boy!

Carter's First Bath

Daddy gave Carter his 1st bath since being at home (the day after coming home from the hospital).  He didn't mind it too much.  He loves having his hair washed.  Of course Mommy had to video tape and take pictures... memories :) 

 

Celebrating Birthdays with the Fam!

The Sunday after Carter was born we went down to my Aunt Penny's house in Burnsville and celebrated Mark and Kayli's birthdays.  It was so much fun and our first outing went smoothly.  (well other than the fact that Carter went through 10 diapers in only a couple hours and we had to make a trip to Babies R Us for backup supply)  Here are some pics from the party:
