37 weeks!!!

Holy cow....I am already 37 weeks!  I can't even believe it!!  I feel really good, other than the lovely heartburn, but otherwise really really good!  I had my 37 week appointment on Tuesday, everything went well, I am measuring at 35 cm (which she thinks he has dropped so that is a-ok)  I had her guess how big he was....which is really hard to do unless they are really small or really big...but she said around the 6 lb range.  Baby Remme needs to stay in there for 1 week longer and then he can make his appearance at anytime.  Technically he is full term, but the 37 weekers that I take care of just aren't quite ready to be out yet (difficulty feeding, jaundice etc)  However with the way his momma can eat, I'm sure he won't have an issue :)
I have a lovely stretch off now (Wed - next Fri), so if he decides to make an appearance before I go back to work that would be fabulous :)  However, I already now what's going to happen...I am going to go back next Friday work 3- 12 hr night shifts, have 1 day off, and then work 2 more... aaaaand then go into labor....haha.  The nursery is ready, bags are packed, carseat is installed, so we are good to go!

"I'm not fat I'm just knocked up"  hahaha

I thought I would post this pic....I was putting together the amazing swing Carissa and Eric got us and miss Lily came trotting along and made herself quite comfortable.  Ugh...this is going to be fun getting her used to having a baby around...we may have one JEALOUS puppy on our hands.

A weekend of Baby Showers!

Like I said in the previous post, we had a shower this past Saturday...and on Sunday we had another one!  Jackie's side of the family came up to Albertville on Sunday for yet another baby shower for our little guy.  (Let me just tell you we are soooo grateful for all of our friends and family....our little Carter is quite spoiled...and he hasn't even arrived yet!)  They all took me out to eat and then we came back to our house to open presents and eat some yummy cake!

Carissa surprised me with a FABULOUS banner and door sign made by one of her friends.  I always visit her website and just oooo and aaaaah over how creative she is...and now our little one has one of her creative masterpieces for himself!  It looks soo incredibly cute in the nursery.  (She has a blog called Polka dots and pirates if you are interested)

My mom also brought over 2...yes 2... cub food boxes full of little boy clothes from a coworker of hers that just had a baby.  She didn't want anything for it and just said to pick what I wanted and then do whatever with what was left.  Let me tell you....these clothes were super cute!  I could not believe how many of the outfits were barely worn.  So this week I spent a while organizing this little one's closet to accommodate alllll of his clothes!

These are the clothes JUST from this weekend!  Are you kidding me??!!  Piles and piles!

Lily loved all of the clothes too! (she's such a little princess)

After the baby shower our neighbor asked us what we still needed for big items.  They already gave us their barely used bassinet to use...and then proceeded to tell us they have 2 excersaucers, a pack and play and a walker that we can use.  (are  you kidding me??!!)  I just cannot believe how incredibly generous everyone has been.  First off we are so excited to have this little boy...and then to have absolutely everything for when he arrives...given to us by friends and family....thats just unbelievable!  Josh and I were talking, and we are just so incredibly grateful for everything.

Baby Shower with the Remmes!

The proud daddy to be !

Josh's mom Jackie made us this cuuute blanket!

Josh's aunts threw us a baby shower in Elysian on Saturday.  Everyone had a fabulous day enjoying the hot hot weather lake-side.  It felt like a sauna when you stepped outside, I myself enjoyed the nice cold air-conditioning inside :)  Kristy had the cutest decorations and Josh's aunt Tammy made the two of us pins to wear...I am going to make Josh wear his at the hospital :)  Other than locking my keys in my car and losing my credit card, it was an amazing day!  (I swear I have lost half my brain cells being pregnant, and I heard you don't ever get them back!)

Updated Bump Pic :)

I thought I should probably update my bump pic...since its almost been a month since the last one.  I am 36 weeks today!  Once again, I can't even believe this baby boy of ours will be soon be here.  The crazy thing that I keep thinking is... I take care of some 36 weekers in our newborn nursery...that just blows my mind that baby Remme is that close to making his appearance :)

I had my 36 week appointment on Monday and will be going in weekly from here on out.  Everything went well, he is a happy camper with his heart rate in the 130-140s.  She asked me if I have noticed him dropping, because I am measuring the same as what I was at my 34 week appointment.  I didn't really notice, but my coworkers actually did.  He isn't pushing up into my ribcage as much, so I guess there have been a couple subtle changes that I have noticed.  He is currently head down as well (yay!).  Well more pics to come from this upcoming weekend.  I have 2 baby showers with Josh's family!  Hopefully it doesn't get too hot...I have been so lucky this whole summer!

Marky

So, I guess my little cousin Mark was disappointed that I didn't post the pictures I took with him from this past weekend...but what he didn't know, is that I was planning on saving a blog just for him :)  Isn't he a cutie!  I bet he has like 4 girlfriends, because he is that cute, except he won't admit it to us :)

35 weeks! Getting closer :)

Yay for being 35 weeks! Not too much to report other than I feel good, and I am even writing this at 5AM after working a night shift...not too shabby. I do need to watch myself though, I was once again doing lots of organizing etc in our storage room, and I may have lifted one too many storage bins. My back was killing me, its just when I get an urge to organize and clean I have to do it at that very moment.

Our little one is over 18 in long and around 5 1/4 lbs (keep in mind these are just estimates from the wonderful 'what to expect when you are expecting' book) and the fruit this week......drumroll....Honeydew!! Perfect for summer time :) I have my 36 week appointment on Monday and then I will be going in weekly...I can't believe we are already to this point! Kind of scary...kind of exciting...lots and lots of mixed emotions. But I am sure once I am holding him in my arms, I will be more than excited to begin our new journey as a family.

Josh has been super busy with his business, which is amazing, but he has been putting in some long days. We are hoping I deliver on a Friday, so he doesn't have to close down....haha....we'll see how that works out :)

We went out to the Olive Garden for Jackie's birthday on Wednesday, and celebrated with Josh's sister and her husband. And then mi madre's birthday is today! I work all weekend, so we will be celebrating with her next weekend.

And one little addition...My Grandpa Thompson had surgery yesterday for a resection of his colon for an infected appendix and diverticulitis. Everything went very well, from the reports, and all we ask for is lots of prayers to be sent his way so he has a speedy recovery!

Well...I am in the nursery...and the babies are calling :) Off to change about 6 diapers and bottle some hungry babes. Hmmm at least its great practice!

Busy Weekend - Part 3 - Happy 50th Grandma and Grandpa!!

Happy 50th Grandma and Grandpa Thompson!

All of the cousins!

All the aunts and uncles with Grandpa and Grandma

My family - hubby Josh, brother Brandon, Mom and Step-dad
...oh and Baby Carter too!

Part 3 of our busy weekend, started early Sunday morning at church :)  My extended family (aunts, uncles, cousins, Grandma) play the bells for our church.  It has been a long time tradition and it is always fun to get together to play such pretty music on a beautiful Sunday morning.  The younger cousins played the prelude music and the older cousins/aunts and uncles played during the service, while my Grandma Thompson directed.
We then got into party planner mode, and began preparations for the party in the afternoon.  My Grandma and Grandpa Thompson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 20th, so we had an open house for them at our church on Sunday afternoon.  We were able to get some great pictures of the entire fam.  My grandparents live on a farm in Lakeville, and most of us grew up within a mile of everyone.  I am extremely close to my extended family and love them so much!  I am actually the oldest grandchild of all 20!  (we won't say what my little cousin Jenny has to say about being the oldest grandchild:)  It was a great day to celebrate such a wonderful marriage.  All I know...is I would love to be like my Grandma and Grandpa in 50 years...loving life, family and each other.

Me with Kayli (youngest grandchild) and Ben my Godson

All the girl cousins!  (well technically Baby Carter too...but we will let it slide this time :)

Loooooove my Grandpa!!
