Grape baby

Baby Remme is officially the size of a grape.  9 weeks...I can hardly believe it!  The nausea has definitely gotten better.  Weeks 6 and 7 weren't very much fun, but I am very excited it has gotten better and not worse.  The only thing I am noticing is I am a little "short" with people.  I get very snotty at work and I seem to be snapping at my poor hubby Joshua.  I guess I can blame it on the hormones and work on being a little more understanding :)

Oh and I was on Baby Center, a website for expecting families and this lady made me this cute little picture!  I love it!

Auntie Carissa and Uncle Eric know about Baby Remme!

So, this is the first time I have felt up to posting since this weekend.  I have been quite out of commission since then, with some lovely nausea and well vomiting....hmmm yummy.  Okay, sometimes I may post things, not realizing everyone talks like nurses, so forgive me :)

Any hoo....We told Carissa and Eric this weekend!! They came on Saturday morning and stayed until Sunday.  It was a ton of fun.  The guys worked on the basement and got so much done, I was very impressed with how fast they worked.  Jackie and Dean came up as well, since they wanted to be here when we told them the good news.  Carissa...well... she just needed confirmation.  She told me she had a "hunch" when I turned down a glass of wine at Christmas.  So I think she knew it was coming, since I shared with her the day after Christmas, that I just wasn't feeling like myself.

We then proceeded to go shopping at the outlets....and of course I was talked into buying some really cute baby clothes.  (okay well maybe I didn't need too much talking into).  I kept drifting toward the little girl side, of course, so if there is a little Joshua Jr in my belly, he may have to be comfortable with wearing pink puffy vests :)  The deals were so amazing so I ended up getting a couple things, and if we have a little boy, then I can always use it for a great baby shower present.

Today, Baby Remme is eight weeks old, the size of a raspberry.  What a beautiful winter day to turn eight weeks :)  Very exciting!  Hopefully "mommy to be" can keep her food down today :)  I'm crossing my fingers!

My little blueberry baby

I can't believe I am 7 weeks!  Baby Remme is now the size of a blueberry, 10,000 times bigger than "it" was at conception.  The nausea continues, and doesn't ever go away.  Food...just doesn't do it for me anymore, everything that used to be good, doesn't look as appetizing as it once was.  I also feel like a lazy couch potato.  I feel as though I get exhausted if I just get up to shower.  I have to take breaks when getting ready, because I get so tired.

Oh, Jeff knows!  He got the package on Tuesday.  His bib says:

G  randpa is
O  ften
L  lost in the
F  orest

He is very excited.  I sent my mom's bib at the same time so when he opened the package up, he looked at my mom and said, "Is Erin pregnant?"  "Are they having twins?"  Haha, it would be amazing though if we were, but who knows.  Oh and Jeff does not want to be called "Grandpa."  He would prefer "Uncle Jaffro."  My mom and I decided, Grandpa, is much better :)  Well more to come...Carissa and Eric find out on Saturday!  YAY!

Jackie and Dean....soon to be Grandma and Grandpa know!

Josh and I had dinner with Jackie and Dean on Thursday to share the good news!  We told them that we were going down to the cities to meet up with my mom later (fib) and that we should meet for dinner.  Josh and his parents picked Olive Garden (good choice).  I was so nervous, my stomach (well other than the nausea) was twisting.  I think I was just so incredibly excited to tell them.  Its a weird feeling, I got the same way when I told my mom.  We ordered, then Josh and I handed them presents.  A bib that said:  "My grandparents don't spoil me, they are just very accomodating" and a onesie that says "My Grandpa said he will buy me my first corvette."  I accidentally handed them the wrong one, but it didn't matter, they caught on and were very excited!  I swear Jackie almost leaped across the table.  Both were very surprised.  They told us that they weren't expecting us to have a baby for a couple years, by Josh's point of view from the past year.  Since he always has to have all of his ducks in a row before making any type of big step.  We have made plans to hang out with Carissa and Eric this coming Saturday (I will be 7 weeks) to share the good news.  Jackie said she wants to be there for the surprise, so both Jackie and Dean will be coming up as well.  Can't wait!

saltines, buttered toast and water

Hmmmm doesn't that sound good :)  So, the nausea has definitely kicked in, the only foods that seem somewhat appealing to me are bland and boring.  I have the day off, and I am meeting up with Briony and Amanda for happy hour (well non-alcoholic hour for me) at a Mexican restaurant.  Hopefully by this afternoon, I will feel up for something more exciting other than saltines and toast.

Also smells are definitely getting to me, Lily was spayed this week and the ointment we have to put on her stitches is making me sick.  Unfortunately, she lays everywhere, so I feel as though I can't escape the smell....uuuugh.  I guess I just need to keep telling myself, that it is totally worth it.  I took all the cushions off the couch and allll the pillows, put them in the other room and "febreezed" them like a mad woman.  Haha its very interesting experiencing all of this, thank goodness I have a very understanding husband.  He has always been able to withstand my "erin moments," so I think he is well prepared to take care of a pregnant erin :)

Time for bed, goodnight!

Oh I almost forgot, I am six weeks today!!!  Baby Remme is now the size of a sweet pea :)  My little sweet pea.

Uncle Brandon Knows Now!

We had dinner with Bran at the Cheesecake Factory last night to tell him about our little baby in the making!  We wanted my mom to be there when we told him, and since she is leaving for Florida for over a month we had to act fast.  Planned dinner for last night, and it was a success!  He had no idea what was coming :)

Unfortunately I didn't get the shipment of onesies and bibs like I had planned, but went over to Carter's in the outlet, bought a bib and made him one that says "If you think I'm cute, you should see my uncle!"  Brandon was a little confused at first, he thought I bought the bib for him to we
ar :)  After he figured it out he was very excited
(well Brandon excited).

Dinner was very yummy, we had fun picking sesame seeds off of Josh's burger.  I was rocking my sesame seed at one point during the evening.  I lost my sesame seed baby though, it was very sad.  Good thing my little sesame seed baby is in my tummy, otherwise it would be very difficult to keep track of something so little :)
The cheesecake was amazing....Brandon asked if we are just going to get one cheesecake to share, and I calmly said, "I'm not sharing!"  Okay maybe not calmly...It's the hormones I swear :)  Dinner was fun, I was very excited to tell Bran and cannot wait until we get to tell others!
The plan is to have dinner with Jackie and Dean on Thursday to share the good news!  Hopefully we will be able to plan something with Carissa and Eric soon.  Because the wait is killing me.
I called for my first appointment with the North Metro Midwives.  February 9th, I will be 10 weeks pregnant and will hopefully be able to hear a heart beat at the appointment.  After we hear a heart beat and confirm the pregnancy with the midwife, we will share the good news with friends and family.
Oh and as a side note, little miss Lily is back to normal.  She is running figure eights and playing with her toys as if she didn't have major surgery 2 days ago, gotta love her.

5 weeks, wanting to tell EVERYONE!!!!

Oh this is a lot more difficult than I would have thought, I just want to tell everyone and anyone that there is a "baby in the making" in my tummy.  We are definitely planning creative ways to tell our families, but the wait is killing me.  I have been reading so many baby blogs and not one really says "the perfect time to share the big news."  Some share with the first positive pregnancy test and some wait until the first trimester is done.  I just want the baby to be healthy and possibly a little further along, before we share with everyone to make sure we do not have to go back and share any bad news, if something were to happen.

I received my "week 5 of your pregnancy" email.  Our little one is now the size of a sesame seed (upgraded from poppy seed).  This is also the week when those "pregnancy symptoms" could start showing up.  I feel okay today, other than a little tired.  Its interesting, because no matter how much sleep I get, I constantly feel exhausted.  I have read though, my body is expending energy as if I were running a marathon.  hmmm does that mean I don't ever have to run a marathon if my body is experiencing one right now?  :)

Our little Lily puppy got spayed yesterday, so we are definitely focusing on her right now, making sure her pain is under control and she is eating well.  She slept with us last night, which is a treat for her, hopefully she doesn't think it will be an every night occurrence.

Well hopefully, I will be able to keep all my food down this week!  So far I have only been extremely tired, with some occasional waves of nausea, but who knows, I have quite a few more weeks in my first trimester.  Happy Saturday....bye for now.

Mom knows :)

December 31st - I told my mom last night!  I couldn't wait.  I was down in Edina having dinner with Amanda, Jill and Claire (which it was very difficult keeping it from them), so I stopped by my mom's house afterwards.  I knew she wanted to see my new camera and christmas pictures.  She was scanning through them and there were two at the end with me holding the positive pregnancy test, she was like "what's this?"  I said keep going, the next one was of my "pregnant tummy."  I said, "meet your new grand-baby!!"  She said, "WHAT?!"  I said, "We're pregnant!!"  That's when the waterworks started flowing :)  She was so excited and so cute!  That was the reason why I didn't tell her we were trying, so it would be a complete surprise.  I can't wait to tell others, its going to be very difficult keeping this secret for a while :)

Oh and also, Josh is super excited about this whole thing.  He was very sweet yesterday when I talked to him on the phone at work.  He said he read parts of the "what to expect when you are expecting" book.  He thought I purposely put the book on his side of the bed.  He is a little naive with this whole pregnancy stuff, but very excited.  Can't wait to experience this whole journey with him.

As a side note, last night I told my mom our baby was the size of a poppy see, she sent me a text this AM that said, "how is the poppy seed today?"  haha love her, well I will continue to write more posts, can't wait :)
