FishCago

I "surprised" Josh with a trip to Chicago last weekend for his 30th Birthday!
And by surprise, I mean....attempted to get away with it, but leaving the history up on your google search on the ipad means snoopy will find it :)

Oh well.

We dropped the two munchkins and our fur baby off with my Mom and headed to the airport.
Started the trip with a nice glass of wine and a beer, chatted with Maren from St. Olaf and we were off!

We arrived, checked in and took a cab to Second City.  It is the famous Improv Training Center where alumni include Chris Farley, Bill Murray, John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, Joan Rivers, Steve Carell, Tina Fey, Jane Lynch (to name a few :)

We had some Mexican Food before, where I indulged in the BEST guac I have ever had in me ENTIRE life!  I wanted to box up three bowl fulls and carry them around with me :)

We had a great time!
Super funny!  There were definitely some talented actors!

Hubs and I on his 30th Birthday at Second City

The entire city was FULL of beautiful blooming tulips.  Everywhere you looked there were hundreds and hundreds of tulips!  It was such a beautiful addition to the city.  The cab drivers told us that they change out all of the center flower displays each season.  I think Minneapolis should do this!

Coffee and shopping on Michigan Ave.

I think this was Josh's most memorable part of the trip.
A picture by his idol :)  Michael Jordan.
The cab driver was nice enough to wait for us while we ran
up to the statue to snap a couple pics.
That afternoon we enjoyed a stuffed pizza at Giordano's.
I ate one AMAZING piece and was 'stuffed!'

That night we ventured out again and walked to Dick's Last Resort along the river.
We had a blast!

And of course a picture by the Chicago sign

An attempt at a timed photo

My 30 year old Hubby!

Love you Joshua....had an AMAZING time with you in
"Fish-Cago" as Carter called it :)

Sunday (Mother's Day)  We had a nice breakfast and Josh surprised me with a massage at a spa on Michigan Ave.  (Which was absolutely perfect and soooo relaxing!)

While I spent time at the spa, Josh took the train and went and toured Wrigley Field, Home of the Chicago Cubs!

(I am sure next to seeing Michael Jordan's Statue in front of the United Center, this was another favorite part of the trip)

He said they were able to see everything, including standing in the press box, on the field and in the tiny team locker room.

A pic Josh snapped from the press box!

Standing on the field.

Thanks Fishcago (aka Chicago) for a Great time!  We hope to visit again soon!

A beautiful weekend

What a great weekend. Saturday Carter was reunited with his bestie Madi. The two of them played and played all day! Saturday night me and the little man snuggled up and watched Finding Nemo. Sunday Reese and I sat pool side while Carter learned to swim. And finished the weekend with Auntie, Cohen, Grandma and Grandpa. We had a blast at the park and checked out the new house. We were very much loving the beautiful weather !!

Update: Instagram Style

I take so many pics via instagram....so I thought I would share some!
I love using it just because it seems to capture everyday life at the Remme's.
Usually when I have my SLR out, we are posing or are all dressed up etc.

Our house has walls!
Yay!
And last weekend we snooped around and took a peek.  So much fun!

Snuggle time in the crib!

A couple weekends ago we met up with the Peroutkas.
Landon and Carter had a blast on some of the rides!

Reesey patiently watching the big boys have fun

DISASTER
This one makes me laugh.
The great thing about living in a small townhouse = fast clean up
The Worst thing about living in a small townhouse = fast demolition
Yes my children did this in 10 min....I would say that takes talent

After running errands with Mommy.
Look at that cute blue mohawk!

Carter and I had a date night a while back.
Movie night to watch the Croods

Look at those MUSCLES!

Carter watching his muscles grow as he ate his green beans

1st bath in Nana's sink!

Carter in absolute heaven at MOA.  He got to meet the Ninja Turtles (aka "Ingine Turtles")  When asked what they said to him he said, "Cowabunga DUDE"

She loves to cuddle with her stuffed animal babies

So tired....passed out on the floor

"Spring in MN"

All smiles at Nana's house

Carter has been going to swimming lessons once a week.
He is doing great!  A bit timid of the water and getting his ears wet.  He is always exhausted afterwards and is all smiles the entire lesson, so I think he likes it!

What a big girl!

Easter Fun

Man oh Man I am behind.
A.  I increased my hours during orientation, and for some reason working that extra 12 hour shift every 2 weeks is kicking me in the behind.

B.  It's not like we have been just sitting around on our bums.  Life has been crazy busy, but we are still loving it!

C.  This dang computer is so slow at our rental that I get annoyed and give up.  (Especially when Miss Spitfire gives me 2 minutes to upload something before the screaming begins.)

So any hoo...More Easter Pics from celebrating with the Thompson Clan

She looks all sweet and innocent doesn't she.  Don't let her trick you....this girl has a voice and will definitely use it to get her way.  Here she is with her Easter basket goodies.  She just LOVED the bunnies.  And cuddles them all the time.

My cousin Paige and I with our girlies.

Family pic...not bad :)

Love them!

Lots of fun jumping on the bed!

Daddy and Reese

Reese was over it :)
We had a great day at the Lundeen House.
Other than the fact that they were recording the basketball game and watching the guy breaking his leg over and over again.  Yes I am a nurse....and no I cannot watch something like that happen....uuuuugh I don't know how my Mom is able to handle that type of nursing.   Unless you are birthing a child, don't come to me with any trauma issues.  I may faint.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter.

It sure doesn't feel like we had Easter already.  Especially with this lovely snow of ours :)
