24 weeks!!

Finally...an updated bump...it has grown a tad....people actually can tell I am pregnant...woo hoo!  I had an appointment this week, and everything went well.  Baby's heart beat was in the 150's.  My midwife said that he must be confused because he has a baby girl's heart rate...(old wives tale)...he must be trying to play tricks on us (just like his daddy).
This week was very busy...Jeff's bday last Saturday,
Josh's bday last Sunday, Mother's Day, Dean's bday today and my cousin Kory's confirmation today!

Here are some pics from our busy week :)

Lots to do before baby arrives!

It seems as though we just keep on finding projects around the house that have to be finished before our little baby boy arrives.  The nursery project continues...we are done painting and hanging curtains so now its time for the fun stuff!  Josh had fun painting the stripes :)  We get our chair and crib this weekend, so I am very excited to see those in the room!  My mom also made a ton of things that she gave to me on mother's day.  By just looking at the bedding set she made a sailboat picture with different fabrics (soooo cute), a lamp that matched and a cute lil coordinating frame.  Oh and by the way...I did not put lily in that spot when I
took the pic.  Every time I open the door to the baby's room she trots on over and plops down on the quilt...oh dear...

Another project going on in our house, is the finishing of our basement!  We are very excited and very very very lucky to have such a helpful and talented brother-in-law.  Eric and Carissa have been spending most of their weekends at our place while the guys work on the
basement.  We love having them over, and we are excited to have them over just as often when we are finished but letting Eric relax instead of putting him to work as soon as he arrives :)  All we have left (and do you like how I say 'we' as if I have been helping out down there) is spraying the ceiling, trim, doors and windows, painting, flooring, installing toilet/vanity in the bathroom and lights!  Okay...that list sounds a little long, but you would be so amazed with what Eric and well Josh too... can do in a day.  Our basement will be one large room, where we will have an entertainment area with a new couch (huge!) and new t.v.  We will also have a bathroom down there as well.  The storage room will also be finished, lots and lots of space to put all my crap.  I will update with pics once we are done! And the last major project that isn't as exciting...is replacing the garage door.  It pretty much folded in half on us when we were lowering it one day...so in order to have a functioning door we have to replace a couple panels.
The cost of being a homeowner...paying lots of money for stupid things :)

Oh and I am 24 weeks!  I will post this weekend with an updated picture of my baby bump!

I can feel little kicks in my tummy!!

So this weekend was the first time, I really started to feel our little one. (21 weeks)  I thought I felt "flutters" before, but this weekend they were much more noticeable.  He gets really active after I have some OJ and my one cup of coffee in the morning, so I knew it was our little one flipping around in there.  Yesterday (Sunday) Josh and I were laying on the couch and he was actually able to feel him from the outside!  So that was very exciting!  He's a good little kicker.
Another exciting event this weekend was Bridget's wedding!  Bridget's mom and my mom were best friends growing up, and we would go up north with their family each summer.  Well she got married this weekend in Albertville, so it was also very convenient.  Me, mom, Brandon, Jaff and Josh had a fun night celebrating!  Baby Remme also had a good time :)

Sneak peak of the nursery :)

My mom came over last week and we started painting the baby's room!  Well by 'we' I mean my wonderful mom.  Lily was also a VERY big help :)  She not only chewed the plastic paint container, but she loved playing with the plastic that was so nicely taped to the base boards.  She did not get to stay in the baby's room for very long.  Although, I did catch her outside of the door, and somehow she got a piece of plastic under the door and proceeded to pull the plastic, tipping over some paint on the carpet :)  We locked her out of the room, and she still caused destruction.  Good thing we didn't have her around when we were painting our whole house last summer :)  Well here are some pics for a little preview....

Let the decorating begin!

Well, I don't think it is much of a surprise that my mom and I have already started decorating the baby's room :)  As soon as we found out we are having a little boy...I ordered the quilt that I wanted from Pottery Barn and soon after ordered a comfy comfy rocker chair.  We special ordered it, so I got to pick the fabric so it matches perfectly!  Its a super comfy chair that rocks and reclines.  We picked out paint colors, and my mom is on top of scouting out fabric for a bed skirt and curtains.  I picked out a bright white crib that I love...it will look perfect with the sailboat theme!  And of course my mind is churning with other creative ideas, and details.  I love having a mom that gets just as excited as me about this stuff...well maybe she gets even more excited :)  Josh just shakes his head when I spout off ideas to him...good thing I have such an understanding hubby.

Speaking of understanding hubby, he has been pretty great for the past couple months.  Finally, around 15 weeks I started to feel better.  This second trimester is a gift from God :)  No more all day sickness, I finally have a bump and I have way more energy than I did earlier on.  Josh was pretty much doing everything around the house, so now that I feel better, I think he is happy to have a little break from cleaning up after me :)  Now we just both clean up after Lily...grrrr I don't think she will ever be potty trained.  She is a very smart dog and even rings a bell to go outside...but continues to have accidents on the carpet...the weird thing is its always when our attention is not completely on her...I am very interested to see what happens when the baby comes.  Good thing we are having a boy...because her title as princess of the house will probably continue :)
Oh yes...I wanted to write a little something about the new floor I am working on.  4 weeks ago I started on the mother/baby (OB) floor.  I absolutely love it!  My stress levels have been seriously cut in half at work, I get to hold adorable little newborns all night and the new mommies and daddies are so much fun to work with.  Such a happy place in the hospital.  I also take in every little tip from experienced moms and coworkers, what a great place to work before having a newborn of my own!!  I can't believe I am 20 weeks....Half way there!

Just hanging out in mommy's tummy

We had our ultrasound on Tues, April 7th.  I had a lot of water and OJ prior to arriving (I was told to drink a lot, to get a better image)  The tech knew we wanted to know the sex, so she literally put the gel on my tummy, placed the ultrasound device on and said....well there's his...I said..."pee pee??"  She goes ... "YUP! Now go pee, because your bladder is hogging up the screen."  I glanced over at Josh and he had quite the grin across his face.  For some reason...I just knew it, all along I thought it was a little boy.  Everything looked fabulous, baby is healthy.  He is an active little guy.  We got to watch him do a back flip in my tummy.  The tech was very surprised I wasn't able to feel it.  We even got a glance of him opening up his mouth and sucking on his fingers...soooo cute.  As we were walking out the room, under his breathe Josh said... "yes!"  And....then I went shopping :)  I bought lots of cute baby boy clothes from the outlets...great deals...couldn't pass those up...hehe.  We are very thankful for such a great ultrasound experience...what an amazing thing to see!

Baby Bump!

Finally....I have a bump that doesn't come and go...it's here to stay.  And the best part about it is other people actually agree that I have a bump :)  For weeks I have been waiting patiently to have some evidence that there is a little one in there other than the nausea, and now I do.  Its an exciting week, my bump is visible and we go to our ultrasound tomorrow afternoon!!  Hopefully Baby Remme will cooperate and show us if it's a little boy or girl!

Carissa and Eric were here all weekend working on the basement.  Carissa was very excited to take pics of my bump, we also balled our eyes out watching Marley and Me....I don't think I have ever cried like that during a movie.  We were both trying very hard to stay under control, but the tears just kept coming.  And it was the type of crying where you make noises, and you try really hard not to :)  Josh's parents came up on Sunday.   We had din din and then Josh and I went to bed around 8:30, haha, we are lame I know :)  Update to come tomorrow after the ultrasound, hopefully we will be able to join team pink or team blue !!
Ps I am 18 almost 19 weeks and Baby Remme is now the size of a bell pepper.
