Fourth of July

We started the weekend out with a trip to Cokato on Thursday night to grill out at Eric and Carissa's.  The food was very very yummy, and we hadn't been out there in forever so it was fun to visit them for a change, and to let the boys actually relax instead of putting them to work on the basement.  The weather was beautiful, we even enjoyed a nice bonfire.  Josh attempted to dog-nap Chase, but I think a 100lb lab would be pretty hard to miss :)

Friday, Josh and I spent the morning/afternoon by the pool and then headed down to the southern suburbs.  Eric and Allie DuChene (friends from high school) had people over for Eric's 26th birthday.  The weather was actually perfect (not too hot).  We enjoyed the night playing yard games and shooting off fireworks.

Friday night we stayed at Ross and Chelsea's in Savage, and hung out there on the 4th.  Chelsea was our weather girl and gave us frequent updates.  At 3pm it looked like we were in the clear, so we quickly packed up and headed to the lake.  We were out there for about ten minutes and then we saw some lovely dark clouds heading our way.  The boys dropped us off at the boat landing, so we were able to wait out the rain in the dry truck...the boys on the other hand sat in the pouring rain out on the lake :) We grilled out, and ate waaaaay too much yummy food.  Played some bags and had a bonfire. We had a great day and great evening!

Sunday was spent poolside and relaxing.

Baby Remme was an active little guy this weekend...Chelsea was able to feel him kicking and everyone else was actually able to see my tummy roll as he was moving around in there.  I have my 32 week appointment tomorrow.  After this apt, I will be going in every 2 weeks, which is very exciting....getting closer :)

31 weeks!!

Baby Remme is 31 weeks! Around 3.3 lbs and 17 inches long! About the size of 4 oranges. His little legs, arms and body are getting more and more plump and he is heading towards a growth spurt...woo hoo mommy's tummy is gonna get bigger :) haha. He is moving around a ton, especially when I am attempting to sleep...of course :) I checked his heartbeat tonight at work (I love working on the OB floor) His little heart is beating away at 150 per minute. I can't believe I am already in the 30's! The funny thing is...I have taken care of 4 couples from our prenatal class. Its crazy to think that only a couple weeks ago, we were all sitting in a circle with our bellies, and now some of those mommas have their little babes!!

Maddens Resort with the Remme's

We spent the weekend with Josh's family in Brainerd at Maddens Resort.  It was a great weekend...well other than the rainy day on Saturday, but we still had a fabulous time!  Carissa and I drove up early on Friday...I was a little out of it since I worked the night before, but we were able to enjoy some of the resort, along with take a nice looong nap :)  The rest of the crew came up that evening.  We had dinner and spent the rest of the evening playing cards.  Saturday we enjoyed the rain and clouds :) and went mini golfing!  Sunday was beautiful...little windy, but nice.  The girls laid out on the beach while the guys enjoyed a round of golf.  Josh was ready to golf another 18, I guess he was just getting warmed up on the back 9 :)  We already talked about going up again next year....the weird thing is...We will be toting around a little 9 month old next summer :)  Carissa and I were able to fill up her Acadia with our crap...I don't know what I will do when I have a whole other person to pack for :)

Cabin Fun!

Last weekend Josh and I went up to our friend Tara's cabin with a bunch of crazy fun friends :) It's always a great time hanging out with everyone, we always talk about how we should hang out way more often than we do. The weather was beautiful, Ross and Chelsea brought their boat, so we were able to be out on the lake. Josh got quite the sunburn on his shoulders...even though I reminded him constantly on Saturday to put sunscreen on...he told me he already had ?? ... I find that hard to believe. :)
Baby Remme enjoyed his time ... We were at a local restaurant and got some fake tatoos. Of course everyone insisted that I give the little one a tatoo, so I had a lovely fake tatoo on my baby bump...classy :) and I was the sober one of the group.

This past weekend was my first time working nights, it went well, I am very happy I am such a good sleeper, otherwise it wouldn't be so great. Every 3rd weekend and the long stretches off will definitely be worth it this summer.

I was in the newborn nursery this whole weekend taking care of the little babes. They are just the cutest little things. Its so crazy to think that in about 10 weeks I will be holding my own little boy, rocking him to sleep :)

Family Baby Shower

On Sunday I had my 1st baby shower!  My aunt Judie had it at her house (she was a fabulous hostess) I am so thankful to have such an amazing family. My aunts, mom and grandma made the day so special :)  (I also was surprised by my aunt Nancy, and my cousins Mark and Jenny.  They have been living in Pennsylvania all year, and I didn't know they would be back in time for the shower!)  I was very excited to see everyone, and it was so much fun opening all the exciting things people bought for baby Remme.  I took a whole bunch of pictures, and couldn't pick which ones to put on the blog...so I am posting all of them :)

I had a fun day today, organizing and putting everything together.  The nursery is looking more and more ready for our little one to arrive!  Oh and the cake picture I am posting was made by my very talented Grandma Thompson, she also made a baby quilt (farm themed of course :)  It's so cute!  Once again, I absolutely love my family, and I am so lucky to have such loving aunties!

29 weeks!

Well...its been a while...my aunt Judie reminded me this weekend that it has been 4 weeks since my last post..oops :)  But, oh man, how time flies when you are feeling good.  I can't believe I am already 29 weeks! (tomorrow)  I officially entered my 3rd trimester last week.  I am kind of sad to be leaving my 2nd...it was so good to me :)  But, I am also very excited to be in the "home stretch."  Even though the home stretch will bring hot summer days and a much bigger belly.

I feel our little guy all the time, he likes to use my stomach as a punching bag often.  I mostly feel him during the evening time, especially after dinner.

Week 29:  Baby Remme is about 2.5-3 lbs and 17 inches!  In veggie terms:  the size of a butternut squash, haha I have no idea what that is...but I guess thats what they use for the 29 week comparison.  I had an appointment with the midwives today, got my glucose checked, and heard our little one's heart beat.  Everything went well.  We had a very busy weekend, which I will definitely be blogging about.  Here's a pic from tonight...29 weeks!
